Interrailing Information for Parents

 

If your child is embarking on an interrail adventure with one of our packages, here’s everything you need to know:

  • Age Restrictions: Travelers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. (18 years or older)
  • Parental Consent: If a traveler under 18 is Travelling without a parent or legal guardian, a signed parental consent form will be required before departure. This ensures they have permission to travel
  • Accommodation Rules: Those under 18 cannot stay in hostels. If a group consists of both under-18s and over-18s, a hotel package will be required instead.
  • Pre-Arranged Travel & Stays: Every aspect of the trip—including the Interrail Pass, train reservations, and accommodation—is pre-booked as part of the package.
  • Trusted Accommodation Partners: We have long-standing relationships with carefully selected hostels and hotels. Our partner accommodations are centrally located, highly rated on TripAdvisor, and provide a safe yet sociable environment.
  • Facilities & Security: All accommodation partners supply bed linen, quality facilities, and secure storage such as lockers.
  • Trip Itinerary App: Your child’s full travel itinerary is available in an easy-to-use app, which they can download for offline access. Parents can also download this app to stay informed. The itinerary includes detailed train schedules, accommodation directions, contact details, and an emergency support number for our team.
  • Currency Considerations: Some destinations included in our packages do not use the Euro. To make things easier, we offer an FX multi-currency card for seamless transactions while traveling.
  • Travel Insurance: Having valid travel insurance is mandatory for all travelers. If needed, we can provide a quote upon request.
  • Laundry Facilities: Most of our hotel and hostel partners offer on-site laundry services for added convenience.
  • Customizable Packages: If you’d like to tailor a package to suit specific preferences, you can do so before booking by reaching out via email, website chat, or phone.
