With this 2-week itinerary, you’ll traverse the Emerald Isle exclusively by rail and ferry, immersing yourself in the sights, sounds, and flavours of Ireland at a leisurely pace.

  • Dublin
    The first Ireland stop is none other than the Fairy City! Dublin is a must for any trip to Ireland because unlike the rest of the cities on the Emerald Isle, Dublin is buzzing no matter what day or time of the week. Hundreds of great bars in this city means you're guaranteed to find a bit of craic*. There's no shortage of things to do here, sip over a Guinness in Temple Bar, or better yet, visit the Guinness Store House. If Guinness isn't your thing, you can also visit the Jameson Whiskey Distillery. The Kilmainham Gaol located here closed in 1924 and is one of the biggest unoccupied gaols in Europe!

  • Kilkenny
    If you're looking for heritage, get ready for the Marble City. What was once the medieval capital of Ireland, Kilkenny has got great food, shopping secrets, brilliant bars, which are only a few of the things that will make it hard to leave. A true hidden gem of Ireland. Kilkenny is a pretty small city, making it a great place to walk around. Like many places in Ireland, Kilkenny has a castle that is the main attraction, take a self-guided walking grounds or admire the castle from the grounds. You could walk the Medieval Mile, taking you from Kilkenny Castle to St Canice's cathedral, and you can marvel at how charming Kilkenny is.

  • Belfast
    Finally, you reach Belfast. Despite the tragic end of the Titanic, Belfast residents are incredibly proud of their association with it and have a 'Quarter' and museum dedicated to the ship. Unlike the rest of Ireland, Northern Irish folks have a unique accent that may be difficult to understand, but that will not stop them from doing their best to show you a good time. Nonetheless, it's a beautiful city covered in murals demonstrating the difficult and wonderful times that Belfast has had over the last number of years. Before you go, take a tour to the Game of Thrones Filming locations, The Iron Islands, Winterfell, and The Twins! (Ps, everyone you meet will tell you they have featured as an extra in the show). A great way to end your Ireland interrail journey!

Interrail Pass: We provide you with an Interrail pass to cover all your rail journeys between each city throughout your trip. Your Interrail Pass is used along with any compulsory seat reservations required for your trip.

Compulsory Reservations: We include all compulsory seat reservations required during your trip. This means no pre-booking or making arrangements before you go. Simply use your Interrail Pass alongside the reservation we provide you with. Your reservations will be added to your app for ease of access.

Ferry tickets: We have included ferry transport from London to Dublin, then from Belfast to Edinburgh to eliminate the need flying on this package.

All our package prices are based on Youth Interrail Passes, so our clients who are over 26 years of age at the time of travel will be required to pay an extra £110.00 for an Adult Interrail Pass.

Where will I be staying?

During the checkout process you will be asked to select from our 3 accommodation options:

  • Standard Hostel (shared rooms)
  • Private Hostel rooms (shared only with those you travel with)
  • Hotel accommodation where you can select between double and twin rooms.

Financial Protection

The Association of Bonded Travel Organisers Trust Limited (ABTOT) provides financial protection under The Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018 for Interrailingpackages Ltd, and in the event of their insolvency, protection is provided for the following:

  1. non-flight packages.

ABTOT cover provides for a refund in the event you have not yet travelled or repatriation if you are abroad.  Please note that bookings made outside the EU are only protected by ABTOT when purchased directly with Interrailingpackages Ltd.
