The timings were perfect and I would certainly recommend it as a way to travel. Just make the journey part of the holiday and relax. We hadn’t been sent one of the seat reservations but the confirmation was on the email and this was accepted as a back up by the rail staff without fuss. We travelled from our little Shropshire home station to Paris in time for lunch! The 2 hotels booked in Paris and Lille were perfect, one old fashioned and very Parisian the other modern and set right in the heart of Lille 2 minutes from both main stations. Couldn’t have been better – moules mariniere for lunch and home in Shropshire for supper.
